Feng Shui is the ancient study of geomancy in China from thousands of years ago. Till today, many of us still practice Feng Shui as part of our daily lives. We see many cases of people who have seemingly benefitted from applying Feng Shui. Feng Shui, in direct translation to English, means Wind-Water. There is an intangible energy force that flows through everything in our environment, homes and even us. It is known as Chi.
However, not all Chi is benign. There are two kinds of Chi, the positive and negative. Feng Shui studies the flow of the energy Chi and strive to maintain a balance of Chi which will help in our well-being. To attract positive Chi while reducing the negative Chi, some of the Feng Shui studies teach us how to design our homes to attain that for good health and wealth. Although we are unable to physically see the Chi, we will be able to feel and see the effects of Chi when we have proper implementation to harness it.
As we are in the 21st Century, the practice of Feng Shui is starting to be neglected and forgotten. Millennials do not understand nor see the benefits of Feng Shui and thus, disregarding it.
Feng Shui is not religious, neither is it a tool for people to sell expensive ornaments to unsuspecting people. Feng Shui revolves around human physiology and understanding how we can benefit from the proper application of it, such as having optimal design and layout of our home. Everyday, we spend more than half the time in our home interacting with our dear ones, having meals, taking a break after a hectic work day, resting and sleeping. With proper understanding of Feng Shui and how we can design our home to optimize it, we will be able to see better health and subsequently wealth.
For one to consult more on Feng Shui, there are many freelances in the industry giving advices and helping people out. There are also the popular and well-known masters who are giving seminars, and advices over media. These are all genuine practitioners who have successfully helped many to achieve a better Feng Shui in their homes and lives.
Nevertheless, even till today, the practitioners work independently and there is no standardized process nor scale to reflect Feng Shui. This results in potential differing views from different practitioners which makes it very difficult for the general public to comprehend Feng Shui and apply it effectively.
